Famed Game Vocalist Launches Avant-Garde Jazz Duo with Debut Music Video

Scarlet Moon is pleased to partner with and present PAON, an avant-garde jazz project from famed videogame vocalist Pernelle and composer/producer Lemm, alongside the debut of a new music video offering a first look into the project’s surreal, narrative-driven world. Blending elements of jazz, experimental music, and cinematic storytelling, PAON explores the boundary between the conscious and unconscious through a multi-act audiovisual experience.

PAON serves as a new creative identity for Pernelle, known for her work as a vocalist in the videogame industry on titles including Stellar Blade, Outer Worlds 2, and NIKKE: Goddess of Victory, where her performances have reached a global audience of game and music fans alike. Teaming up with composer Lemm (Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade, SEGA 7th Dragon 2020-II, SoulKnights), the duo aims to create an ongoing series of original works that merge music, narrative, and visual storytelling, with each release contributing to a larger unfolding story.

The newly released music video for "Métamorphose" below serves as a preview of PAON’s debut EP, titled Philosophie du Soi. The EP is scheduled for release on April 19, 2026, and will be available digitally worldwide via Scarlet Moon Records.

“PAON draws its conceptual inspiration mainly from theater and videogames," comments Pernelle. "This project is a tribute to many musical artists we love such as Chick Corea, KNOWER, and Vangelis, but also notably to the work of Naoshi Mizuta and Masashi Hamauzu in the FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 soundtrack, that was the starting point of our collaboration. As our universe is deeply connected to audiovisual and narrative aspects, we believe that videogames are the most appropriate dimension to make our music evolve and find its purpose within the tangible world.”
