Cards Everywhere! - Review

I came to Cards Everywhere! expecting a relaxing organising game. What I got instead was the gaming equivalent of walking into my bedroom as a teenager and discovering that somebody had tipped an entire trading card shop onto the floor. The title is not exaggerating. There are cards everywhere. On the floor. In your sightlines. In your dreams. Probably behind you right now.

The premise is wonderfully simple: sort through thousands of scattered cards, collect more than 1,500 unique entries, and place them neatly into an album. What begins as a casual tidying session quickly transforms into a full-blown cardboard-fuelled obsession. One minute you're organising a handful of cards. Three hours later you're squinting at duplicates, muttering "I know I've seen this mushroom somewhere before" while your family questions your life choices.

The genius of Cards Everywhere! is how it weaponises the human brain's inability to leave a collection unfinished. Every completed set feels fantastic. Every missing card becomes a personal insult. The game keeps dangling that next discovery just out of reach, creating a dangerous cycle where you'll repeatedly say "just one more card" until the sun comes up and local birds begin commenting on your progress.

Thankfully, the experience remains delightfully cosy throughout. There are no enemies, no combat encounters, and no world-ending threats. The greatest villain here is your own organisational system. If you've ever spent twenty minutes creating the perfect filing structure only to immediately forget where everything went, you'll feel right at home.

The progression system adds a welcome sense of momentum. As your collection expands, you unlock useful abilities that make searching, sorting, and collecting more efficient. It's surprisingly satisfying to evolve from a confused amateur card-picker into a highly-trained organisational wizard capable of spotting misplaced cards from across the room.

Visually, the game embraces a clean and colourful style that keeps the sea of collectibles readable even when the floor resembles the aftermath of a trading card tornado. The soundtrack and overall atmosphere support the relaxing vibe, creating a space that's easy to lose yourself in for far longer than intended.

My only real criticism is that completionists should approach with caution. Finding over 1,500 unique cards is less a hobby and more a lifestyle commitment. If your brain reacts strongly to incomplete checklists, consider notifying friends and loved ones before starting. You may not be seen again for several days.

In the end, Cards Everywhere! turns the simple act of sorting cards into an alarmingly compelling pastime. It's charming, relaxing, oddly addictive, and proof that sometimes all a game needs is a massive pile of stuff and the promise that you can put it somewhere more organised than where you found it.

Pros

  • Incredibly satisfying collecting and organising loop

  • Huge number of cards and sets to discover

  • Relaxing, cosy atmosphere

  • Excellent "just five more minutes" energy

Cons

  • Completionists may develop card-related tunnel vision

  • Occasionally feels like unpaid administrative work

  • You'll start mentally categorising objects in real life afterwards

A delightful organiser's paradise that turns tidying up into an adventure. Just don't blame me when you start alphabetising your kitchen cupboards afterwards.
