Scarlet Moon is pleased to present Prescription for Pop, a cross-over jazz series that looks to cure what's ailing pop music. Composer and saxophonist Norihiko Hibino (renowned for his work on videogames including Metal Gear Solid, Bayonetta, and Yakuza) joins pianist AYAKI to form GENTLE LOVE. Following their Billboard-charting 16-album run turning game and anime music into their unique brand of jazzy lullabies to sleep, study, and chill out to, their all-new series starts with two albums dedicated to top 2025 and 2024 pop hits, respectively. Highlights include "Gone Gone Gone" and "Golden" from 2025 and "Too Sweet" and "Flowers" from 2024. Prescription for Pop: 2025 Hits and Prescription for Pop: 2025 Hits are both available today with full track lists below:
"It's interesting how Hibino-san's 2009 album GENTLE LOVE covering pop tunes from around the world and 2009's original Prescription for Sleep resulted in our first Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies album in 2014," reflects Scarlet Moon's Jayson Napolitano. "In that way, we're coming full circle, after 16 albums in the games and anime spaces, we're turning attention back to pop music where it all began. We hope to generate some cross-pollination between mainstream music and games as people enjoy GENLTE LOVE's unique sound and seek out more of their work in each respective space."
