Thanks to the support of 20 backers, Indie game development studio LB’n’Mie exceeded its initial goal of $5,000 and raised $5,214 to fully fund the production of The QuarterCade on Kickstarter.
The QuarterCade is a budget-friendly, custom-built PC/console hybrid designed for simple, affordable gaming right out of the box. It removes common barriers—no subscriptions, no overpriced hardware, and no complicated setups—offering the convenience of a console with the flexibility of a PC. By backing the project, supporters help promote a gaming experience made for players, not corporations.
Created by DJ Jones (Last BeNeVoLeNcE)—an indie developer, hip-hop artist, and GRAMMY® Recording Academy member—the QuarterCade was born from the need to overcome funding challenges that slowed his game projects. Consoles are made-to-order, the prototype uses Steam only for demonstration, and production begins as soon as a tier is backed. Although profit margins are slim, increased support will improve efficiency, shipping, and future production.
More than a hardware project, The QuarterCade aims to support indie creators, preserve games, and give budget-conscious players a true alternative. It demonstrates that small, passionate teams can innovate where major companies fall short, turning the console into a movement for accessible, player-focused gaming.
