The King is Watching, the award-nominated roguelite kingdom builder with more than 600,000 units sold from developer Hypnohead and publisher tinyBuild, expands its reign to consoles, benevolently supervising subjects on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch starting Wednesday, July 29.
Take up the crown of the “motivational monarch,” whose very gaze inspires subjects to get things done. Turn thy stare toward the wheat fields to inspire the peasants to sow and reap. Monitor production chains from atop the castle, but remember that whenever the lord isn’t looking, the people return to their natural state: indolent and lazy!
Complete challenges to unlock new kings, each with their own distinct governing style. As King Leo the Wise, grant new building blueprints to your most loyal and dedicated subjects. The wizard King Spellus generates crystals that power arcane spells, and the dreadful King Alucard can bring fallen soldiers back to the battlefield as undead warriors.
Outwit and outwork a new villainous boss on each run, ranging from goblin warlords to mighty dragons. Learn each one’s particular set of abilities and units, adapting strategies according to the available blueprints, spells, and artifacts distinct to each run. Master each King’s style, then add Threat Levels to increase the dangers posed by enemies, requiring new strategies and split-second decision-making.

“The King is Watching has had a wonderful reception on PC, but don’t get too comfortable, console players: we’ve got our eye on you too,” said Semyon Itmaniuk, Head of the Hypnohead Studio. “Whether you’re at home on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch… the King will be watching!”
The King is Watching launches on Xbox X|S, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch on Wednesday, July 29, for $14.99 USD. It will offer support for the following languages: English, German, Spanish (EU), Russian, Simplified Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
