I tried the "Walk The Frog" Demo - You should too! - Demo Spotlight

Welcome to the XPN Gaming website! Here at XPN we adore indie games, and we love to promote cool upcoming games we think you should know about! This week I have been playing the demo for Walk the Frog - So lets talk about it!

What's it about? Guide Froggo through a world on sticky notes and relax while solving the puzzle of his journey home to find his best friend Buddy. Meet quirky animal friends, solve satisfying puzzles, help one another and relax in this cozy and heartwarming adventure with an intuitive drag-and-drop puzzle style.

Froggo only wants one thing: to be back home at his pond so he can celebrate the start of spring with his friend Buddy. But along his path, he will encounter a lot of funny, sassy, and quirky characters who want his time and attention. Maybe they’ll help him, too? Will he make it to the festival on time?

Each level consists of an assortment of hand-drawn sticky notes. Your task is to piece them together correctly to create a path so Froggo can continue his journey and set his world to rights.

Every puzzle you solve is like a little moment of clarity; the mechanics are intuitive and accessible.

You can take your time solving the puzzles on Froggo’s journey home. Some encounters are optional, and some dialogues change nuances of the story.

My Thoughts: I really loved this one, the sticky notes crossed with jigsaw style movement of the environment in order to progress the story was so different to anything I had played recently. The game was extremely chill, with very cute art and characters. It never made me feel stuck or frustrated and the there is also some cute humour sprinkled throughout. This is definitely one for cozy, chill game lovers! The demo has also been updated so you can experience three new levels, one from each of the three chapters: The forest (3 levels), the insect city (1 level) and Fields & Meadows (1 level).
