Forest Farm on PSVR2 is a small, handmade-feeling VR farming sim with RPG elements where the pace is slow, the stakes are low, and the whole point is simply existing in a quiet woodland space. There’s something undeniably appealing about stepping into a forest clearing, grabbing your tools, and tending to a little patch of land that feels like it’s been waiting just for you.
Open World Farming Sandbox - Work your overgrown forest into a thriving farm! Clear the forests, grow crops, keep animals, craft fences and more! Turn a wild landscape into your dream farmstead.
Feed the Citadel - Complete Quests for the citizens of the Citadel to earn their respect.
Grow a Bountiful Harvest - Select from 21 plants, vegetables and fruit to grow, from 7 different layers - trees, fruit trees, bushes, herbaceous, ground covers, root vegetables and vines.
Design Your Garden Layout - Do you prefer your garden in tidy rows, many small gardens, or one large plot? Layout your garden in your own custom design.
Swing Your Tools into Action - Level up your tools with every use - Use your shovel, axe, pick axe, fishing rod and bucket.
Upgrade and Improve - Upgrade your farm by crafting or purchasing fences and much more!
Visit The Market - Trade your fruit and vegetables at the local market to earn gold coins.
Snap, Smooth and Teleport - Use your favourite locomotion style.
Once you settle in, the game’s atmosphere does a lot of the heavy lifting. The forest has a warm, slightly storybook quality, and the scale of VR gives even simple tasks a tactile pleasure. Planting seeds, chopping wood, or feeding animals all have that familiar VR “reach out and do it” satisfaction. When everything clicks, it’s easy to fall into a rhythm and ends up being the kind of game where you lose track of time because you’re too busy watering crops or reorganizing your little farmyard. It’s cozy, it’s quiet, and it can be a joy to play at times.

But the charm doesn’t always hold. Forest Farm has a scrappy, uneven side that shows up quickly. Interactions can feel clumsy, with tools not quite behaving the way you expect or menus that seem determined to test your patience. Some animations are stiff, and the world occasionally feels more like a prototype than a polished release. There’s also a repetitive loop that won’t be for everyone; if you’re not already the kind of person who finds joy in doing the same gentle tasks over and over, the game can start to feel thin.
That said, there’s a sincerity to Forest Farm that’s hard to dismiss. It’s not trying to compete with bigger VR titles or reinvent the farming sim. It’s simply offering a peaceful place to exist for a while — a little woodland retreat where the biggest decision you’ll make is whether to plant more carrots or go fishing. For players who want a soothing VR escape, that might be enough. For others, the rough edges will be too distracting to ignore.

Pros
Relaxing, cozy atmosphere that suits short, calming sessions
Tactile VR interactions that make simple tasks feel satisfying
A charming, handmade vibe that gives the world personality
Cons
Clunky menus and inconsistent interaction design
Rough animations and a general lack of polish
Repetitive gameplay loop that may not hold attention long-term

Forest Farm is a really easy game to settle into when you just want something gentle. When it’s doing its thing, it’s genuinely lovely, you’re pottering around your little patch of woodland, doing small jobs, listening to the ambience, and letting your brain drift a bit. It has that “I’ll just do one more thing” vibe that makes an hour disappear without you noticing.
But yeah, it’s also a bit scruffy. Some interactions don’t quite behave, the menus can be awkward, and every now and then the game reminds you it’s a smaller, rough‑around‑the‑edges project. None of that ruins the experience, but it does mean the cozy flow gets interrupted more often than you’d like. Still, if you’re after a chilled VR space to unwind in Forest Farm absolutely scratches that itch. It’s not perfect, but it has a charm that’s hard to fake.
