Hey fellow gamers, MezzaB here again, coming at you with another exciting musical review for XPN gaming. (I'm super excited about this one).

Nostalgia at its finest!
So when I saw this little gem pop up for review, I just had to grab it, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed in the least by listening to this nostalgic tribute album brought to you by Rifti Beats.
It took me back to my younger years, where I'd rush home from school, shout a quick "I'm home!" to my mam, and then go rushing upstairs to load up my PlayStation One and play Final Fantasy 7 and get lost in the gameplay for hours on end. (FF7 was the first game I ever bought for myself, and was the game that turned me into a gamer.) But enough about me, let's get into this Final Fantasy tribute album, shall we? "WARK" "WARK".
What's it all about?
The CHOCOBO & CHILL II album consists of 16 tracks and the album is approximately 45 minutes and 54 seconds long. This album highlights music from across the Final Fantasy Franchise with its unique twist.
This awesome album is brought to you by RIFTI Beats. This talented artist creates transformative remixes of video games and anime music using Hip Hop, Trap, and Lo-fi Beats.
RIFTI Beats worked alongside GameChops (the world's first record label dedicated to video game remixes and cover songs) also brother Kyle James joins him on base for all 16 tracks, and the artist 'Jimmy on Guitar' features in tracks one and three to bring you this Final Fantasy Lo-fi tribute album that was released on the 29th March 2024.

My honest opinion...
I did the same thing as my last music review, listening to the album as I wrote, so it was fresh in my head. Now, obviously, my opinion is going to be slightly biased because I love the Final Fantasy franchise! (I even have Cloud's Buster Sword on the wall behind me.) So, going into this review, I had high expectations... and I am delighted to say I was pleasantly surprised by its unique interpretation of it.
You know, as soon as you listen to a track, where it is in the game. (so many memories... and so, so so many rage quits!) I also love the album cover design with the Chocobo chilling out near the farm and Cloud's Buster Sword in the background. I'm loving the simplicity of the art design, and anyone who knows the Final Fantasy Franchise will recognise where it's from just by looking at it.
My favourite track from this album is number 3, Cosmo Canyon. I loved the soundtrack from the original game FF7, and quite often went to sleep listening to the prelude and other themes from it.
Now don't get me wrong... I know not all Final Fantasy fans will love this tribute album, but it is well worth a listen if you're looking for something a little different to chill out to.

"Nobuo Uematsu is one of the greatest composers of all time," says arranger Rifti. "Reinterpreting his melodies into my own versions and seeing how they resonate with Final Fantasy fans is the most fulfilling experience I've ever known!"
I couldn't agree more with Rifti on his first statement about Nobuo Uematsu!
